Susannah Hewlett & The Marlborough Theatre present Chris Titmas's Weekend Breakdown, a comedy on the beach from washed up shopping channel host Chris Titmas in a show exploring alter-egos, bruised egos, broken hearts and half hearted revenge.
Ego maniacal VSS Shopping Channel host and personality Chris Titmas is having a weekend break in Brighton. Since the disappearance of Lisa (his now ex fiancée) Chris hasn't quite been himself. He's found solace watching back his best TV appearances and has even started to write his own self help guide to love "I'm Chris Titmas and I know how I feel." Always the showman, he just can't resist the opportunity to get up in front of the bank holiday crowds come rain or shine.
Meet him on Brighton beach for this unique brand of "functional fun" as he imparts his philosophies on life, introduces you to the latest must have VSS product and tries to move on from Lisa. Bring your camera phones and help Chris show Lisa exactly what she's missing out on as he goes to ridiculous measures to prove himself a hero.
Susannah Hewlett is an associate artist with Duckie, the queer progressive performance collective. Her work moves between live art, comedy, theatre and film and has been screened at Loco Comedy Film Festival and The London Short Film Festival. She is one half of Hewlett & Eaton who performed their cult comedy horror show in a caravan Barbara and Yogashwara's Safe Space at Brighton Fringe back in 2010. She has performed at Barbican & Whitstable Biennale as her alter-ego Chris Titmas and now returns to Brighton Fringe as Chris in a show made especially for the seaside.
