Casting has been announced for a 2017 tour of MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL, the all-singing, all-dancing comedy at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre for one night only on Thursday 9 March 2017.
EastEnders' Cheryl Fergison and Maureen Nolan are joined by Rebecca Wheatley (Casualty) and Ruth Berkeley (Penny Dreadful).
Cheryl Fergison played the role of Heather Trott in EastEnders between 2007 - 2012, a role which won her the 'Funniest Performance' at the Inside Soap Awards. Her stage credits include Measure For Measure for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Maureen Nolan has been singing with her sisters as The Nolans since she was nine years old. Together they became one of Europe's first successful girl bands, with phenomenal record sales worldwide, particularly in Japan where they sold more records than The Beatles! Maureen is a familiar face in musical theatre, and has received plaudits from critics and audience members alike. Maureen is a very accomplished actress and has played Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers in the West End and on tour for several years. She was the fourth of The Nolan Sisters to play the part, earning them entry in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2007.
Rebecca Wheatley is best known as Amy Howard, the receptionist in the BBC's Casualty drama, a role which she played for four years from September 1997 until March 2001. She has been a regular panellist on Loose Women. Although originally trained as a classical singer, Rebecca has become well known for various types of popular music. She has sung in many of the cabaret venues in the West End of London, including The Café Royal, The Ritz and The Savoy. She has also sung at the Grand Opera House in Belfast in televised performances for BBC Northern Ireland, and at the Royal Albert Hall for The TV Times 'Christmas Carols with the Stars' event.
Ruth Berkeley trained at Laine Theatre Arts. Her theatre credits include: Onna Crow in A Man of No Importance (Arts Theatre, West End); Marie-Thérèse in The Mask Of Joy (London Pleasure Gardens); understudied all four women and played Earth/Power women in Menopause The Musical (Tivoli Theatre, Dublin). Her Television credits include: Penny Dreadful (Sky Alantic), The Al Murray Show (ITV) and No More Tears (RTE).
MENOPAUSE THE MUSICAL is a hysterical show packed full of one-liners about night sweats, hot flushes and memory loss is backed by an instantly recognisable soundtrack of innuendo-laden versions of 60s, 70s and 80s pop classics. An all-singing, all-dancing comedy set in a department store, where four women with seemingly nothing in common, meet by chance and make fun of their woeful lives experiencing "The Change". They soon bond as they realise that the menopause is no longer "The Silent Passage", but an unavoidable stage in every woman's life.
The show is sponsored by Promensil Menopause.
