Following the announcement of an exciting new co-production with Nuffield Southampton Theatres, the Belgrade Theatre Coventry is thrilled to reveal full casting for its forthcoming musical adaptation of David Walliams' Billionaire Boy.
Written by Jon Brittain (Margaret Thatcher: Queen of Soho, Rotterdam), Billionaire Boy The Musical will feature music by prolific pop song writers Miranda Cooper and Nick Coler, whose previous work includes tracks for Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Alesha Dixon and Kylie Minogue. The show is directed by Luke Shepard (In the Heights, Murder for Two) with casting by Annelie Powell, and runs in Southampton over Christmas, before transferring to Coventry in February 2019.
Ryan Heenan (Moonfleet, Grease, Peter Pan) stars in the title role as Joe Spud, a young boy whose life is transformed when his father becomes unexpectedly rich after inventing a new kind of toilet paper - Bum Fresh. Dean Nolan (Brief Encounter, Big Fish) co-stars as Joe's billionaire father, Len, alongside Avita Jay (Bring on the Bollywood, The Secret Garden) as his girlfriend Sapphire.
Playing Joe's best friend, Bob, will be Lem Knights (The One Hundred and One Dalmatians, One Love: The Bob Marley Musical), with Sophia Nomvete (Miss Littlewood, Vice Versa) co-starring as Bob's Mum.
Jared Leathwood and Natalie Morgan (Gala, Mountains of Madness) will play school bullies Sue and Dave Grubb, while Eleanor Kane (Fun Home) plays the mysterious Lauren. Completing the cast as Musical Director/Ensemble and Drummer/Ensemble respectively are Alex "Teddy" Clements (Fortune Lane, Things We're Learning Now) and newcomer Daisy Noir.
