Caroline Sheen Joins Cast of The Watermill Theatre's CRAZY FOR YOU

The Watermill Theatre today announced the full company for its summer production of Gershwins' Crazy For You opening on 28 July until 17 September. West End leading lady Caroline Sheen makes her Watermill debut as Polly and joins previously announced Tom Chambers, who plays Bobby.

Directed by The Watermill's Artistic and Executive Director, Paul Hart, this brand new production will be reimagined for The Watermill's stage with musical arrangements by Catherine Jayes and produced in association with Jamie Wilson.

The cast also features Matt Bateman (Eugene Fodor); Kit Benjamin (Everett Baker); Hollie Cassar (Tess); Peter Dukes (Bela Zangler); Lindsay Goodhand (Lottie Child / Patricia Fodor); Katrina Kleve (Mitzi); Jeremy Legat (Lank Hawkins); Emile Ruddock (Custus); Ned Rudkins-Stow (Moose); Seren Sandham-Davies (Patsy); Lucy Thatcher (Irene Roth) and Anne White (Margie).

Crazy For You is choreographed by Nathan M. Wright and is designed by Diego Pitarch, with lighting by Howard Hudson and sound by Tom Marshall.

High energy, high kicking and gloriously glamorous, Crazy for You is the ultimate feel-good musical with a fabulous score from the Gershwin brothers' songbook. Mistaken identities, plot twists, heartbreak, happiness and a wealth of memorable tunes, including I Got Rhythm, They Can't Take That Away >From Me, Nice Work If You Can Get It and Embraceable You, all feature in this exhilarating celebration of the great Broadway musicals.

Caroline Sheen is one of the UK's most prolific West End performers and joins the company as Polly. Her extensive theatre credits include Only the Brave (Wales Millennium Centre), City of Angels (Donmar Warehouse), Putting it Together (St James Theatre), Rags (Lyric Theatre), Les Miserables (Palace and Queens), Mary Poppins - Helen Hayes Award (UK/US Tour), The Light in the Piazza (Curve Leicester), Dick Whittington (Barbican), Once In A Lifetime and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way to The Forum (National Theatre), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Palladium), The Witches of Eastwick (Drury Lane), Mamma Mia (Prince Edward), and Grease (Cambridge/Victoria Palace).

Tom Chambers plays Bobby. His most recent stage credits include Private Lives (UK Tour), White Christmas (Dominion Theatre) and Top Hat (Aldwych Theatre). Tom is best known for his leading roles in television dramas Holby City and Waterloo Road as well as winning the 6th season of Strictly Come Dancing in 2008.

Paul Hart is The Watermill's new Artistic and Executive Director and recently directed the opening production of his inaugural season, Romeo and Juliet. Hart was previously an Associate with Propeller Theatre Company and Resident Assistant Director for The Donmar Warehouse, where he worked on the Broadway transfer of Red and directed Huis Clos. Previous productions at The Watermill include: Heroes, Great Expectations, The Tempest and most recently, Journey's End. He also directed The Essay for BBC Radio 3.
