Pentire Street Productions and The Florence Theatre Company are taking two shows to the Camden Fringe this August, both discussing the pertinent issue of homelessness and are supporting the charity Crisis that works to support and ultimately prevent homelessness.

Following on from Florence Theatre's sell-out performance of Tim Price's Protest Song at the Barons Court Theatre Festival in April, Jack Tivey will reprise the role of Danny in the one man show at the Camden People's Theatre from the 6th-9th August (9pm). Protest Song follows Danny, a rough sleeper familiar and fond of his spot by St Paul's Cathedral, as the Occupy protest turns up and shakes his world, but for better or worse?

Young playwright Billie Collins will have her 5-star play Spiders see its London debut at the Tristan Bates Theatre from 13th-18th August (7:45pm). Longlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting in 2015, Spiders is a witty, touching piece of new writing that asks: is your suffering still valid when another's is greater? Spiders debuted at the Corpus Christi Playroom in 2017 to rave reviews:

The companies are hosting fundraiser events throughout July and August to raise awareness for the charity Crisis, having recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, which works across the UK. The charity offers year-round education, employment, housing and well-being services from centres in London, Newcastle, Oxford, Edinburgh and Merseyside, called Crisis Skylight Centres.
