Calamity in Coventry: THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG Returns to the Belgrade Theatre Image

Back on the road by phenomenal popular demand, multi-award-winning comedy The Play That Goes Wrong crashes back onto the Belgrade Theatre's Main Stage this March following its sell-out success in January 2017.

Currently stumbling through its fourth catastrophic year in London's West End as well as blundering onto in Broadway, this smash hit show has been showered with praise by critics and audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, as well as winning endorsements from celebrities ranging from Joanna Lumley ("We laughed until the tears ran down our faces, it has to be seen") to Ant and Dec ("The funniest show we've seen!").

The plot follows an ill-fated attempt by the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society to put on a 1920s murder mystery play. But as events unfold, as the title suggests, just about everything that can go wrong, does, with some uproarious consequences!

As the accident-prone thesps battle on to reach their final curtain call against the odds, expect to find yourself left aching with laughter. Doors may jam, dogs run off, floors collapse, and scripted dialogue disappear completely out of the window, but as ever, the show must go on!

Since premiering at London's Old Red Lion Theatre in 2012, The Play that Goes Wrong has gone on to scoop up Olivier and Whatonstage Awards for Best New Comedy, as well as being named Best New Play by Broadway World, Broadway World UK and Broadway.com.

Presented by Mischief Theatre in partnership with Kenny Wax Ltd and Stage Presence Ltd, this new touring production for 2018 stars Jake Curran as Chris, Catherine Dryden as Annie, Bobby Hirston as Max, Benjamin McMahon as Dennis, Gabriel Paul as Trevor, Steven Rostance as Jonathan, Kazeem Tosin Amore as Robert and Elena Valentine as Sandra.

Don't miss this side-splitting theatrical sensation when it returns for yet another calamitous week in Coventry, running from Monday 19 until Saturday 24 March. Tickets are available to book now by calling the box office on 024 7655 3055 or visiting www.belgrade.co.uk where tickets are cheaper.
