COMET Makes World Premiere at The Pleasance Theatre in the Pilot Year of (RE)Presented Image

(RE)PRESENTED is an ambitious new initiative produced and presented by From Ground Up Theatre Company in association with the Pleasance Theatre to provide an exciting opportunity for drama school graduates without formal representation to be part of the creation of a brand new play.

Over 250 people applied to be part of the company, with applications from alumni of every Federation of Drama Training-affiliate school. All applicants were offered an audition with feedback and five young actors were finally selected to develop a brand new play with director Tommo Fowler (JamFinborough Theatre) and writer Kieran Knowles (Operation Crucible Finborough Theatre and UK Tour, Chicken Soup Sheffield Crucible).

Comet

Charlotte has met a boy online.

That's about the only thing in her story that's conventional.

The boy has an idea, an idea that will change the world, her world, forever.

Comet is about exploring an echo chamber, about jumping down a rabbit hole and losing sight of reality. It's about reaching an extreme and looking back to where you started unable to find the common ground.

It's an exploration of an idea, an analysis of the conclusion it draws and a story about a girl who falls in love with the wrong argument.

(RE)PRESENTED is a new initiative produced and presented by From Ground Up Theatre Company in association with the Pleasance Theatre.

From Ground Up Theatre was created in 2013. Its debut production, 'Operation Crucible' opened at The Finborough Theatre and went on to tour the UK, have a sell out 3 week run at The Sheffield Crucible and is also due to transfer to New York in May 2018.
