CBeebies' stars ABE JARMAN (presenter of The Let's Go Club), and JANE DEANE, (Dee Livery in Justin's House), will lead a superb cast in the most magical pantomime of all - ALADDIN. Croydon is the place to be this Christmas, when this festive treat takes to the stage at Waddon Leisure Centre from Wednesday 7 to Saturday 31 December. This year's Christmas cracker is one that all the family will long remember.
ABE JARMAN stars in the title role of Aladdin. Known as the one of the friendly faces of The Let's Go Club, Abe is sure to delight audiences as the cheeky chappy hero, using both his hip hop and commercial dance skills together with an impeccable sense of comic timing!
JANE DEANE will star as the Slave of the Ring. Jane, who starred in CBeebies Justin's House alongside Justin Fletcher, trained at Zippo's Circus Academy and is a skilled clown, juggler and unicyclist. She specialises in children's entertainment and has written and directed the Hotel shows at the Legoland Windsor Resort.
Joining the CBeebies favourites will be a talented cast of leading West End and national touring performers and pantomime favourites including:
Seasoned dame Steve Fortune takes the role of everyone's favourite pantomime mum Dame Widow Twankey. Steve has been performing professionally for over thirty five years and has appeared in a number of West End shows including Underneath the Arches at the Prince of Wales Theatre, Annie Get Your Gun at the Aldwych Theatre, Chess at the Prince Edward Theatre, Jesus Christ Superstar at the Lyceum Theatre, Noises Off at the Piccadilly Theatre, Fiddler on the Roof at the Savoy, and La Cage aux Folles at The Playhouse. Last year he played the role of Mr Sander in the Open Theatre Regent's Park production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
STEVE EDWIN will be bringing the hiss and boo to Croydon as the evil villain Abanazar. Steve is well known on kids TV as the voice of The Disney Channel's Florrie's Dragons and has appeared in a host of TV series including Down To Earth and Holby City.
Beat boxing KM DREW BOATENG will feature as our mystical, magical and hysterical Genie of the Lamp. With his big smile and charm he will be a firm favourite with adults and children alike. He received rave reviews for his role as the Traffic Warden Obi in Maggie Norris's The Realness and has appeared in many Hackney Empire pantomimes including Jack and the Beanstalk and Dick Whittington.
CHRISTINA HARRIS is the lovely leading lady - the beautiful Princess Jasmine. She has previously appeared in the original London cast of It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Superman as well as the BBC's Goodness Gracious Me.
DEAN KILFORD will play Aladdin's brother and loveable buffoon, Wishee Washee. Dean has appeared in the West End and on tour in Blood Brothers as well as in a host of Christmas Shows. He is also a regular on BBC Radio Sussex.
JON CONWAY takes to the stage as The Emperor of Old Peking - he most recently appeared at The Waterloo Vaults in the acclaimed production of Goosebumps Alive and last Christmas appeared in Dick Whittington at Leatherhead Theatre.
The cast will be supported by an ensemble of professional dancers and singers who will bring each musical number to life, together with 16 young performers from the Croydon area.
Eddie Dredge, Director of ALADDIN: 'I'm thrilled to be able to announce such a stellar cast of talented performers for our show this Christmas - it will really be one not to be missed! It's fantastic to have CBeebies' stars ABE and JANE on board as they will ensure the families of Croydon are well-entertained this Christmas!'
