By Jove Theatre Presents THE WOMEN SCREAMING BEYOND, July 7-9

By Jove Theatre was recently founded by recent university graduates in Drama and Classics and creates new and innovative theatre adaptations for the modern audience, concentrating primarily on myths, legends and folklore from the ancient world.

In the first six months of its existence, the company has already been awarded financial grants from NACUE Create and the Next Stage Awards and will be staging its first production, The Women Screaming Beyond, an original adaptation of the Greek myth "The Oresteia," at The Courtyard Theatre, Shoreditch from 7-9th July 2012.

Electra lives in the same house as the woman who murdered her father – as it happens, that woman is also her mother. When she finally takes revenge, what follows moves from the minute scale of family drama to the truly cosmic, as gods and mortals clamour for justice – or a justice that silences those screaming the truth.

By Jove Theatre Company invites you to an evening in which performance, live music, multimedia, and installation art combine to tell one of the most compelling stories in Western literature.
