Following on from the sell-out success of their first lunchtime show The Importance of Being Earnest, Butterfly return to the St. James Studio with a unique 45 minute interpretation of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The production will run in the studio beginning today, Monday 15 July to Friday 26 July, weekdays only, at 1pm.

Londoners are time starved and culture hungry and Butterfly's unique brand of lunchtime classic theatre is the perfect remedy. Leave your desk and reclaim your lunch hour with this condensed version of Shakespeare's classic tale, and eat as you do so. St. James lunch bags will be available at the theatre for only £5 and packed lunches also welcome.

Victoria's workmen down tools to rehearse a play for another royal wedding at the palace, lovers lose their way in St James' Park and the fairies of the St. James Theatre fly off the walls and into your hearts bringing a touch of glamour to the mayhem.

Putting truthful, responsive acting at the heart of their work, Butterfly's aim is to make Alive Theatre that make audiences feel something real moment to moment. They bring well known, much loved texts to new life in an honest, engaging and funny manner.

Aileen Gonsalves, artistic director of Butterfly, said 'Lunchtime theatre is all about providing pure entertainment to our audience. We know they're busy. We know they want to have a break, to escape, to feel something, to cry, laugh and gasp. In 45 minutes every moment is precious and needs to be filled with life. The words stay the same but our actors play off each other and the audience so that every performance is unique and vibrant. No one in the theatre - including the performers - knows exactly what is going to happen next.'

The production is directed by Aileen Gonsalves and the cast comprises Conor Boru as Demetrius/Snout, Sam Blythe as Oberon, Caroline Colomei as Titania/ Quince, Hayley Cusick as Helena/ Starveling, Paul Harnett as Bottom, Jack Helsby as Lysander/Flute and Stacey Roberts as Hermia/ Snug. Owen Pullar and Stuart Vincent will alternate the role of Puck.
