Birmingham Children's Theatre Continues it's 2010 Season

The Birmingham Children's Theatre continues its 2009-2010 season in February with THREE BILLY GOATS GRUFF. With book and lyrics by Jean Pierce, who also directs, and music by Jim Aycock, the THREE BILLY GOATS GRUFF tells the tale of 3 goats who build a bridge- but a mean troll takes over and won't let them cross.

THREE BILLY GOATS GRUFF will play February 1-February 26 and is recommended for grades Pre K to first.

Next is the Mainstage production of PLAY TO WIN! THE JACKIE ROBINSON MUSICAL. With a book by James De Jongh and Carles Cleveland, lyrics by James Foster, Jr., James De Jongh, and Carles Cleveland, and music by James Foster, Jr., the show celebrates the story of the iconic figure from American history. Jackie Robinson broke barriers in professional baseball and now audience members can go on his journey of determination to be the best despite seemingly insurmountable odds.

PLAY TO WIN! THE JACKIE ROBINSON MUSICAL will run February 15-March 5 and will be directed by Tam DeBolt. The show is recommended for grades 2-6.

In April, journey down the yellow brick road with THE WIZARD OF OZ, A musical emphasizing life skills. This Mainstage production with book and lyrics by Stanley Barber and music and lrics by Matthew Gandolfo, will run April 13-May 7. THE WIZARD OF OZ is recommended for grades 2-6.

After every Public Mainstage performance at the Birmingham Children's Theatre, audience members may join the cast in the lobby for cookies, autographs, arts and crafts, and pictures.
