This summer, Birmingham Hippodrome will be producing two major outdoor events bringing FREE theatre to the city and the theatre is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to act as ambassadors and be involved in two of the cultural highlights of the year:

Summer in Southside (3 August, 24-25 August) will see the area around Birmingham Hippodrome transformed where families and visitors can enjoy the best in circus performances, dance and drama. Highlights are set to include a gigantic 20ft storytelling robot, mesmerising dance using shopping trolleys as you have never seen before and an opportunity to run away with the circus with the incredible NoFit State Circus who return to the city by popular deman. For more information and a full programme of events visit www.summerinsouthside.com.

4 Squares Weekender (6-8 September) see's Birmingham Arts Partnership, made up of major arts organisations from across the city, coming together to celebrate the opening of Birmingham's new cultural asset, The Library of Birmingham. 4 Squares Weekender will see Victoria, Centenary, Chamberlain and Oozells Squares transformed with live performance, drama, dance, music, interactive workshops and the best in street food throughout the weekend. Friday andSaturday evening will culminate with the extraordinary giant acrobatic spectacular, As the World Tipped performed on vast 12m screen set high in the night sky. For more information visit www.4squaresweekender.com.

We are looking for volunteers to help with a range of responsibilities including Event Stewards, Marketing and Promotion eg: Flyering and Production assistants to ensure both events become two of the highlights of the summer.

Volunteers will need to be able to commit to at least one training session ahead of the event and shifts will be split into morning and afternoon/evenings.

Those involved will be provided with training and certification and there is a chance for members to also be involved with other events with other arts organisations as part of Birmingham Arts Bank Volunteer Scheme.

Whether this is something to add to your CV or a chance to meet some of your CSR objectives (Corporate Social Responsibility) for your company by putting forward a team, Birmingham Hippodrome would love to hear from you.
