In just under a month's time, the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry will play host to the premiere of Peter Arnott's thrilling new wartime drama Propaganda Swing.

Swinging onto the Belgrade Main Stage for two smokin' hot weeks this September, this brand new musical co-production with Nottingham Playhouse reveals the characters behind the story of how some of the greatest German jazz musicians of WWII entered into a Faustian pact with the Fascists in order to continue playing the music they loved, even if that meant seeing it corrupted for evil.

Capturing the style and vitality of the 1930s Berlin jazz scene and featuring a fantastic swing band live on stage, this all-singing, all-swinging production promises to be the must-see show of the Belgrade's Autumn Season.

In countdown to the show's opening, the Belgrade Theatre will be hosting a Vintage Clothing & Craft Fayre on Saturday 13th September between 10am and 4pm in the Main Foyer.

Visitors to the event can take advantage of a range of specialist stalls selling vintage crafts and clothing as well as a selection of handmade gifts from across the region. There will also be the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of Libby Watson's 1930s radio-studio set design for Propaganda Swing as part of Heritage Open Day.

Visitors are also invited to learn more about the high-glamour fashions featured in Propaganda Swing as part of a special exhibition of costume designs from the show.

Local Vintage stylist Sarah Russell will also be on hand to offer tutorials in the art of 1930s Hollywood hair and makeup taking place throughout the day.

Applications are now open to exhibit at the event. A standard stall (2m x 2m) can be purchased for £15.00 with an additional £5.00 charge for electricity. A premium stall (4m x 4m) can be purchased for £30.00. Stalls will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The deadline for all applications is Friday 5th September at 5pm. Entry to the Vintage Clothing and Craft Fayre is free. Tickets for Propaganda Swing are priced from £9 - £21.25 and can be purchased via the Belgrade Theatre's Box Office on 024 7655 3055 or online at www.belgrade.co.uk where cheaper tickets are available.
