More dastardly than Dracula, More fearful than Frankenstein, Sillier than The Sphinx, The Mummy is the Mother of all Comedy Horrors!

Paul Tyrer and Jamie Clark for The Booking Office in association with Belgrade Theatre, Coventry present the world premiere of THE MUMMY based (very loosely indeed) on Bram Stoker's Jewel of the Seven Stars.

In deepest, darkest Egypt, an ancient curse is bringing a terrifying creature back into life. Meanwhile, fate throws together a handsome lawyer, a beautiful heiress and a 5,000-year-old man seeking his long lost ancient love. Their adventures in search of the Tomb of the mystical Queen Tera will have you laughing one minute and screaming the next.

The Mummy is a gloriously silly romp that mixes innovative staging with special effects, magic, sleight of hand and even seven-fingered hands! It's an hilarious cross between The Woman in Black and The 39 Steps via Hammer House of Horror and The Morecambe and Wise Show. Featuring a cast of 1000s and performed by a cast of just 6!

Well known TV stars Jason Durr, Susie Amy and Denis Lill head the cast in the world premiere of The Mummy, adaptated by Jack Milner and directed by Joe Harmston, which launches a major UK tour at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry on Friday 21 March. The Mummy features set design by Sean Cavanagh and lighting design by Ben Cracknell.

Jason Durr (The Hero) is best known for playing heartthrob PC Mike Bradley in six series of ITV1's Heartbeat.
Susie Amy (The Heroine) was unforgettable as Chardonnay Lane-Pascoe in the cult drama Footballer's Wives.
Denis Lill (The Egyptologist) was Consultant Surgeon Mr. Rose in all eight series of the ITV1 drama, The Royal, and played Cassandra?Trotter's father, Alan, in Only Fools and?Horses.

Writer Jack Milner is one of the most prolific and versatile writers and director working on the UK comedy scene. He's also a founder of the London Comedy Writers Groups.

Director Joe Harmston is Associate Creative Director at the Belgrade Theatre and was nominated Best Director in the 2012 TMA Awards for his production there of The Father. In a career spanning almost 20 years, he has directed the world premieres of many plays and musicals, including King James's Ear, The Lover and The Collection, starring their writer, Harold Pinter, at the Donmar Warehouse. He is Artistic Director of the hugely commercially and critically successful Agatha Christie Theatre Company for Bill Kenwright Ltd.
