The European premiere of Little Women The Musical comes to Manchester this Autumn, staged at Hope Mill Theatre in Ancoats through this weekend. BroadwayWorld has highlights from the show in a new trailer below!

This is the first time that Broadway musical Little Women has appeared in Europe - another first for the continuing successful collaboration team of Katy Lipson of Aria Entertainment and Joseph Houston and William Whelton of Hope Mill Theatre.

The Manchester production is co-produced by Matthew Hopton from Knockhardy Productions, directed by Bronagh Lagan, choreographed by Iona Holland, design from Nik Corrall and lighting design by Ben M Rogers. Little Women is cast by Jane Deitch.

Based on Louisa May Alcott's captivating and critically acclaimed 150-year-old book, and with a stunning score by Grammy Award winner Jason Howland, Little Women follows the adventures of the four March sisters - Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy.

Jo, the eldest daughter and an aspiring writer, receives yet another rejection from a publisher. When her friend Professor Bhaer tells Jo she can do better by making her stories more personal, she weaves the story of how she and her sisters grew up in Civil War America - a tale of self-discovery, heartache, hope and everlasting love.

The sisters are played by Amie Giselle-Ward as Jo (Guys And Dolls, Catch Me If You Can, Cabaret); Jemima Watling as Meg (The Tempest, Anthony And Cleopatra, Romeo And Juliet); Cathy Read as Beth (Bumblescratch, Eugenius, Big Fish); and Katie Marie-Carter as Amy (White Christmas, Oklahoma!, Annie Get Your Gun). Prof Bhaer is played by Johan Munir (Tape, My Dad's Gap Year, Othello).

They are joined by Virge Gilchrist Aunt March (Brexit The Musical, The Mandrake, Lost Love Letters); Joel Harper-Jackson as John Brooke (The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita); Connor Hughes as Laurie (Crossing Over, Titanic The Musical, Some Enchanted Evening); Tony Stansfield as Mr Laurence (Dirty Dancing, West Side Story, Jack And The Beanstalk); and Anna Stolli as Marmee (Mamma Mia, The King And I, Crazy For You).
