Sampson has seen better days. Once gainfully employed, he's been making ends meet lately with the help of his old friend Wheelchair, who owns a local Brooklyn bodega. It was the least Wheelchair could do; Sampson's mother was always good to him when Wheelchair was a kid. Now she's dying in Sampson's apartment and Sampson is running out of money.
Today, things got a little worse. A stranger from the South Side, a Hasidic Jew named Menachem, paid a visit.
Charlie, who owns the Chinese restaurant next door, doesn't like this guy at all. He's been yelling about it all morning, along with how he hates the new girl Sampson's been dating. Lately, Sampson wishes Charlie would just stop drinking.
As worlds collide in this darkly comic story, what began as a regular day in Sampson's life may quickly turn into one of the worst he's ever had.
