This Christmas Tobacco Factory Theatres teams up again with world-renowned theatre company New International Encounter (Hansel and Gretel, Around the World in 80 Days) to bring you a mischievous and music-filled marvel of a Christmas show.

Deep in the forest lives a very unusual figure, suffering under a terrible curse. In a poky farmhouse on the edge of town, three remarkable daughters and their weary father are struggling to make ends meet. But everything changes beyond their wildest dreams when Belle, the youngest of the daughters, dares to enter the forest...

This re-telling of the French classic fairy tale is brimming with surprises and delights to remind us that beauty - and beastliness - are only skin deep.

Director Alex Byrne explains what makes it such an enticing story for Christmas, "The show is all about magic, about transformation, about a terrible cure and how it unwinds. It's about a terrible beast in the middle of the forest who hides a dark secret that only love can unlock. It's also about families, about siblings and what happens when a family falls on hard times... After seeing the show I hope audiences feel exhilarated and overjoyed and ready for Christmas!"

Beauty and the Beast opened at Cambridge Junction last Christmas to rave reviews and packed houses. So snap up seats for the ultimate festive treat!

Age Recommendation 2+ and their families

The multi award-winning team behind the hugely popular Cinderella: A Fairytale, last year's Christmas show at Tobacco Factory Theatres, brings all its trademark magic and mastery to a warming wintry tale of family, feathers and fitting in.

Frost. Ice. Quiet. The farm is sleeping, snuggled up for warmth. Suddenly the peace is shattered by the arrival of... a duckling. Scruffy, clumsy and NOTHING like his fluffy yellow siblings, our unlikely, gangly and slightly wobbly hero sets off on an epic adventure to find the place where he truly belongs.

Hans Christian Andersen's much-loved story comes springing to life at the hands of Sally Cookson, Benji Bower and Katie Sykes, with Travelling Light's trademark joyful and moving storytelling, enchanting live music and fantastical invention. 10 years since its opening here at Tobacco Factory Theatres, and following 5 star reviews and an acclaimed national tour, The Ugly Duckling promises to leave young and old and everyone in between enraptured, uplifted and asking for more.
