Despite the next Cloud Dance Festival being only weeks away, Cloud Dance Sundays is back with another original lineup today, Sunday 14 July, offering you something special to do on a Sunday evening - last time's sell-out audience will attest that it's a great way to unwind.
A partnership between Cloud Dance Festival and Giant Olive at Kentish Town's Lion & Unicorn Theatre, Cloud Dance Sundays is a monthly dance show aiming to bring together the best of both worlds: watching some good dance, and a relaxing evening out with friends. And all in the comfort of the cosy and intimate Lion & Unicorn Theatre in Kentish Town - a venue which has previously seen performances by
Antonia Franceschi, Ballet Black, Rambert
Dance Company and Richard Alston
Dance Company.
Fresh from Cloud Dance Festival, B-Hybrid Dance will be presenting a specially adapted version of their work Foundations - so if you want a sneak preview, you can catch them at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre on Sunday 7 July.
For the many people intrigued by or interested in
Isadora Duncan and her legacy,Julia Pond will be performing a new solo in her signature contemporary Duncan style. Those who don't know of
Isadora Duncan will be in for a treat.
Johnny Autin, recently of acclaimed urban contemporary
Dance Company 2Faced Dance, will be performing a solo inspired by the recent riots in Turkey, and as for Nina von der Werth's duet.... well, you'll just have to come and see it!
The next Cloud Dance Sundays shows will be on Sunday 4 August and Sunday 8 September, with more dates to follow.
Tickets are on sale at
www.lionandunicorntheatre.com/clouddancesundays.php; a limited number of tickets will be available on the door.
Cloud Dance Sundays runs alongside Cloud Dance Festival, which is returning on 5 - 7 July to Bernie Grant Arts Centre, and our partnership with the Lion & Unicorn Theatre will enable us to focus on developing dance audiences in local communities, and supporting gifted dance artists.
And also, the Lion & Unicorn is a great little pub, and a wonderful place to celebrate (or mourn) the end of the week.
