Interval Productions are launching a brand new brit-rock musical featuring the songs of Tim Prottey-Jones, and it's about time. Tim's albums, [More With Every Line and Surrounded by the Sounds], have been musical theatre favourites for some time, but as of yet, a show containing them has never been performed!

There are so many jukebox musicals out there at the moment – this show really fills a gap in the market. Brand new pop-rock songs, a British cast and creative team, and an edgy theme. This show is one for the 'cool' kids and is definitely parental guidance!

How many auditions have asked you for a 'pop/rock' song? And how many times have you had to wheel out the same out-dated material? Here's a show packed full of 'actable' audition songs!

Cast

The cast features two exceptionally experienced performers – Ashleigh Gray [Standby Elphaba, Wicked] and Stevie Webb [History Boys, The National]. In addition, as per Interval Productions' ethos, After The Turn also features some 'undiscovered' talent in the form of Greg Oliver and Steven Rolley, both still training at Italia Conti. Liam Doyle [The winner of GMTV's search for a Troy, Hairspray-UK tour] and Interval's founder member Tori Allen-Martin [Hair, European and forthcoming UK tour] removes her production hat to originate the role of Lauren in this premiere production of 'After The Turn'.

Creatives

Complimenting Tim Prottey-Jones's music is a new book written by Sarah Henley, who is also directing. Sarah has had success with two plays, 'Getting On' and 'Getting Away' and most recently collaborated on the writing team for ZIP, a streetdance musical choreographed by Gary Lloyd. She hopes to make the acting an integral part of this show.

The show is Musically Directed by Tom Curran – Tom is currently studying at Guildhall School of Music & Drama. In 2008 he was one of the BBC Proms Young Composers Competition winners and was subsequently commissioned to write music for the 2009 Proms. Tom was recently Musical Director for 'FRESHER The Musical' [2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival], and is currently Assistant MD for 'The Producers' [Arts Ed].

Interval

Interval productions was established in 2009 to give a voice to the incredibly talented people who were stuck 'in between' – in between drama school and their first big break, in between paid jobs, or even those who needed a showcase because they were in between agents. This ethos is especially important in today's industry, where an untrained person from big brother is more likely to get a part than a supremely talented graduate. Interval's aim with After the Turn is for people to come to the show to see one of their West End favourites, and leave the show with another favourite, previously unknown to them. These people are the future of musical theatre.
