The role of Gerado, the husband of Paulina Salas (Thandie Newton), will be played by Tom Goodman-Hill, and Doctor Roberto Miranda will be played by Anthony Calf in Ariel Dorfman's Olivier award-winning thriller Death and the Maiden. The play will open at the Comedy Theatre from Thursday 13th October 2011. Jeremy Herrin, Deputy Artistic Director of the Royal Court, will direct and the production will be designed by Peter McKintosh.

· BAFTA Award-winning Thandie Newton has most recently been seen in Huge, Ben Miller's directorial debut starring award-winning British actor Noel Clarke and Johnny Harris. She is currently filming Good Deeds written, starring and directed by Tyler Perry. The film in which Newton plays lead character Lindsey is due for an early 2012 release. Earlier this year Newton also appeared in Vanishing on 7th Street directed by Brad Anderson in which she starred opposite Hayden Christensen and John Leguizamo. Newton was recently seen in For Colored Girls, the adaptation of Ntozake Shange's choreopoem directed by Tyler Perry for LionsGate. She starred opposite Whoopi Goldberg, Kerry Washington, Janet Jackson and Kimberly Elise. She was also recently seen in the independent psychological thriller The Retreat opposite Cillian Murphy and Jamie Bell, directed by Carl Tibbetts. In 2009 Newton starred in Roland Emmerich's 2012 for Columbia, which revolves around an academic researcher who battles to prevent an apocalypse predicted by the ancient Mayans. She stars in the film opposite John Cusack, Oliver Platt, Woody Harrelson, Amanda Peet, and Danny Glover. The film grossed over $750 million worldwide. Newton was praised for her work in the Academy Award-winning Best Picture of 2006: Crash, the story of a multiracial group of characters whose lives interconnect following a car accident in Los Angeles. Nick Frankfort was formerly Executive Producer of the Donmar Warehouse and has over twenty years of experience in the theatre industry. Tobias Round worked at IMG and Adventures in Motion Pictures before joining the Donmar Warehouse as General Manager in 2003.

Lyndi Adler is an Australian based producer with over twenty years' experience.
Her stage credits include High School Musical and feature film credits include Three Dollars starring David Wenham and Francis O'Conor and Prey featuring Natalie Bassingthwaite.
In other Theatre Projects, she produced 1 Night Stand, featuring the best of Australia's stand-up comics, which toured a number of Australian cities in 2006-07.
