The critically acclaimed one woman play Dirty Paki Lingerie directed by Erica Gould comes to London after sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Toronto, NYC, Pakistan, and Turkmenistan. Award winning actress and comedy writer Aizzah Fatima debuts her solo play Dirty Paki Lingerie on the West End this Friday, October 24 at Leicester Square Theatre at 9pm, and then plays at Rich Mix Cultural Arts Centre on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30 pm.

Set in post 9/11 America, Dirty Paki Lingerie depicts the stories of six Pakistani-American

Muslim women in New York City ranging in age from a six year old girl to a sixty-five year old woman as they balance old world tradition with new age technology. Cross-cultural sparks fly and preconceptions about Muslim women, sex, and politics are hilariously shattered in the show The Wall Street Journal says "breaks down stereotypes of Muslim women in America" and that reviewers call a "must-see" production. Dirty Paki Lingerie transcends boundaries of culture, religion, and gender, moving and entertaining audiences with its unique and universal appeal. A rich, sexy, and infectiously entertaining mosaic of the sublime, the comic, the poetic, and the political.

Of her inspiration playwright and performer Aizzah Fatima says, "I started writing this play after waking up one day shocked to realize that parts of the country I call home had developed virulent Islamophobic sentiment. A country that was founded on freedom of religion now had organized opposition and violent acts being committed to prevent the building of mosques. By showing a different side of the Pakistani-American community, I wanted to show people that Muslim-Americans are not a monolith in thought or practice. "
