AVENUE Q, the award-winning puppet show that's very definitely for adults, returns to Canterbury this spring.
The musical tells the story of Princeton, a recent college graduate who moves into a shabby New York apartment on the downtown street, Avenue Q. He meets Kate (the girl next door), Rod (the Republican), Trekkie (the internet sexpert), Lucy The Slut and other colourful types who help him finally discover his true purpose in life.
Part flesh, part felt and all heart, Avenue Q is full of mischief, bad behaviour and political incorrectness. It contains strong language and adult themes and is recommended for those aged 14 and over.
Created by Jeff Marx and Robert Lopez (co-creator of Book Of Mormon) Avenue Q won the Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.
Avenue Q is at The Marlowe Theatre from Monday 1 to Saturday 6 April, with performances at 7.30pm, (not Friday 5), 5pm and 8.30pm (both Friday only) and 2.30pm (Saturday). Tickets can be booked at marlowetheatre.com, or by calling the Box Office on 01227 787787.
