Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) - the world's number one live-theatre company with over 46 venues - has revealed plans to put digital strategy at the forefront of the customer experience.

The programme of work titled Evolution will deliver a re-engineered E-commerce solution that will focus on providing improved customer experience.

Overseeing the project and reporting into Helen Enright, ATG's Chief Financial Officer and Commercial Director, is Rob Edwards in the newly appointed role of Project Director Evolution who will be working alongside ATG's Ticketing, Retail and Technology teams. Edwards will commence his role in February 2016.

Helen Enright, ATG's Chief Financial Officer and Commercial Director, said, "The transformation of our digital capability is crucial to the development of the business as it will enable us to trial new technology, increase ATG's profile and brand identity and most importantly, allow us greater engagement with our customers. Development of mobile applications and e-tickets will be part of the Evolution programme."

"With significant experience in ticketing and E-commerce, Rob is ideally positioned to lead this project. We welcome him to ATG and look forward to working with him."

Rob Edwards said, "I'm delighted to be joining ATG at such an exciting time for the company and look forward to working with the team in delivering these new E-commerce advancements for ATG and its customers."

Edwards is currently Managing Director of Eventim UK Ltd, a position he has held since Europe's market leading ticketing company CTS EVENTIM AG & Co. KGaA entered the UK market in 2009. Over the past 20 years he has gained considerable experience of ticketing, E-commerce and digital marketing working for ticketing software suppliers and ticket agents to help live entertainment, arts, and sports organisations market and sell tickets.

He was UK Sales Manager for Select Technologies before becoming VP Product and Head of Technology for Tickets.com. From 2001 to 2005 he served as the European General Manager for Tickets.com managing operating companies in the UK, Netherlands and Germany. From 2005 to 2008 he was the General Manager in the UK and Ireland for AudienceView Ticketing Corporation.

The Javelin Group (an Accenture Strategy company) will be delivering the new E-commerce system that is at the heart of the Evolution project. The project will look to integrate and utilise many of ATG's existing digital components, including the Enta and Audience View (AV) ticketing systems and Zonal retail system.
