Produced by Michael Harrison and David Ian, and directed by Nikolai Foster, a new production of musical Annie comes to Birmingham Hippodrome from Tuesday 13 - Saturday 31 October 2015.
Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan's orphanage. Determined to find her real parents, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie's search.
Annie stars Craig Revel Horwood as Miss Hannigan. Craig is probably best known as a judge on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing. His West End Theatre credits include: Munkustrap in Cats, Miss Saigon, and Harry in Crazy for You. Playing the role of Miss Hannigan for all Saturday performances [whilst Craig is judging BBC's Strictly Come Dancing] is Birds of a Feather star Lesley Joseph, whose other touring credits include Calendar Girls and Hot Flush! plus starring roles in The Hippodrome's popular pantomime productions.
They are joined by Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks, Holly Dale Spencer as Grace Farrell, Jonny Fines as Rooster and Djalenga Scott as Lily. Sharing the title role of 'Annie' will be Madeleine Haynes, Isabella Pappas and Sophia Pettit.
