Love From A Stranger, by Agatha Christie, tells of Cecily Harrington's whirlwind romance with a handsome and charming stranger. Sweeping her off her feet, she recklessly abandons her old life to settle in the remote and blissful surroundings of a country cottage. However, Nigel Lawrence, her newfound love, is not all that he seems.
This edge-of-your-seat drama has been rediscovered in a new production by Lucy Bailey (Gaslight, Dial M For Murder). Adapted by Frank Vosper, it draws on both Agatha Christie's short story Philomel Cottage, and her recently discovered own stage adaptation of the same short story, The Stranger. The cast includes Helen Bradbury (Cecily) and Justin Avoth (Nigel); both have strong West End and touring theatre credits.
Love From A Stranger is at The Marlowe Theatre from Tuesday 3 to Saturday 7 April, with performances at 2.30pm (Thursday and Saturday), 7.30pm. Tickets, priced from £17.25 to £34.75 (concessions available), are from the Box Office on 01227 787787 and marlowetheatre.com.
