Kicking off on January 15th at the company's HQ, the Courtyard Theatre in Hereford, 'DREAMING IN CODE' is performed by five outstanding male dancers and will be at the Place in London on March 10th and 11th as part of the UK tour. The new production consists of milk night choreographed by Eddie Kay, educator and performer with Frantic Assembly, and Lucid Grounds choreographed by Tamsin Fitzgerald.
Milk night is a poignant and thought-provoking piece of physical theatre that sees the cast thrown into a world of the unknown in exploring what it might be like to live in a world without women. How would men survive in such a world? What would be the greatest fear? What would they need to do in order to not forget?
Says Eddie Kay: "We can only imagine what would happen in this situation but, whilst exploring the idea with the performers, it became apparent we were all afraid of the same thing: forgetting. What would men have to do in order to hold onto the ever-fading memories of being with real women?"
Lucid Grounds comes from the award-winning choreographer and artistic director of 2Faced Dance Company, Tamsin Fitzgerald. Lucid Grounds sees the dancers performing in the unmistakable 2Faced Dance style. This futuristic piece features a climactic soundtrack by two of the country's most exciting composers, Angus MacRae and Tony-nominated Alex Baranowski.
Says Tamsin Fitzgerald: "Over the years I have become fascinated by the power of the brain and its ability to both control and disable the body. This led me to look at my own recollection of childhood events and memories. Is what we remember the truth or a series of small truths pieced together to create a new event or story? What would happen if we were able to directly experience each other's memories or dreams?"
