1927's dystopian fable about our reliance on machines, blending animation, live music and performance has been acclaimed by audiences and critics alike since its UK premiere at London's Young Vic Theatre in December 2014. Since then, Golem has over three and half years been performed over 315 times, touring across the UK and internationally to 17 countries across 5 continents.

On Sunday 18th November BBC4 is set to broadcast a performance filmed earlier this year for The Space at London's ArtsDepot. Like a giant graphic novel burst into life, Golem is a dark and fantastical tale of an extraordinary ordinary man, written and directed by Suzanne Andrade with hand-crafted animation by Paul Barritt entwined with live performance from 1927's ensemble of performers, alongside a live and recorded score composed by Lillian Henley.

The broadcast comes as the company continues its tour of The Animals and Children Took to the Streets, performing a number of dates in the UK and internationally including a run at the Old Market Theatre in Hove over Christmas and dates at HOME Manchester and London Lyric Hammersmith 2019.
