About "TRASH!"
This is a very humane modern story about the first love and mother love, about desperation and finding hope. On April 16, 2007 23-year-old student Cho Syn Hi from South Korea killed with a gun two people in the campus of Virginia University. Two hours later he shot 33 people and wounded 29 people in the academic building.
Mikhail Durnenkov saw a photo of Cho Syn Hi in Internet. He was surprised as the face of the young killer was so much undistinguished. It was a loser's face that can not be recognized in a crowd. This is how Durnenkov got the inspiration to write a play about a man that regards himself as trash, about a nowadays Raskolnikov, for whom a murder is not an attempt to save the world but an attempt to accomplish his personal identification, to take an Action and stop being trash for good.
This award winning play brings out a striking question: "Can a deplorable man turn into a murderer or a hero?"
