Theatre Tulsa Academy's next production will be “Mean Girls: High School Edition,” a hilarious yet relatable portrayal of teenage life. Inspired by the acclaimed Broadway musical, this teen-focused adaptation brings the beloved story to life with a fresh and authentic perspective.

The musical, based on the 2004 comedy film written by Tina Fey, follows the story of Cady Heron, a new student who navigates the treacherous social hierarchy of high school as she rises to the top of the social food chain.

Originally debuting on Broadway in 2018, “Mean Girls” took the theater world by storm, captivating audiences with its witty dialogue, catchy songs, and unforgettable characters. This adaptation, as presented by Theatre Tulsa Academy, retains the wit and charm of the original while catering to a younger audience.

Theatre Tulsa Academy, known for its commitment to nurturing young talent and providing exceptional theatrical experiences, will showcase the remarkable skills of its talented young performers, who bring their own unique interpretations to the iconic characters.

Theatre Tulsa Academy is an interactive theatre training program for youth. The course trains students on the essentials of musical theatre – auditioning, acting, vocal music, dance, and more. The Theatre Tulsa Academy series of shows features youth-oriented and “junior” versions of popular musicals as a supplement to Theatre Tulsa's regular season of mainstage shows. Theatre Tulsa Academy produces four additional works per season.

Performances of “Mean Girls: High School Edition” will take place at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center November 17-19. Evening performances will be at 7:30pm. Matinee performances will be at 2pm Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are available online at tulsapac.com or by calling the PAC box office at 918.596.7111.

Theatre Tulsa Academy is sponsored in part by the Oklahoma Arts Council.
