Theatre Tulsa has announced an upcoming production of "The Trail to Oregon!" as part of its regular Adventure Series. This energetic musical will take audiences on a wild journey through the Oregon Trail like they've never experienced before.
"The Trail to Oregon!" is an offbeat musical comedy that parodies the classic computer game "The Oregon Trail" while combining humor, catchy tunes, and a dose of not-very-accurate history to create an unforgettable theatrical experience.
The story follows the hilarious misadventures of the Love family as they embark on the perilous journey along the Oregon Trail. Audiences will laugh, cheer, and maybe even shed a tear as the Loves encounter quirky characters, wild rivers, and a touch of deadly dysentery. With a witty script, catchy songs, and a talented cast, "The Trail to Oregon!" is a rollercoaster of raucous laughter and unhinged fun.
Theatre Tulsa’s Adventure Series is a new series designed to bring non-traditional theatrical experiences to the Tulsa community. TT has committed to offering two such productions per season as add-on productions to its regular season of shows that are typically performed at the Tulsa PAC.
The cast of “The Trail to Oregon!” includes Sam Briggs as Father, Karlena Riggs as Mother, Samara Cain as Daughter, Kristen Simpson as Son, Nick Cains as Grandpa / Cletus, and Robert Young as The Bandit King. The show is directed by Angela McLaughlin, with music direction by Christy Stalcup and choreography by Briggs and Young.
Performances of “The Trail to Oregon!” will take place at Theatre Tulsa Studios at 5521 S. Peoria Ave. on Nov. 2-4. Thursday’s performance will be at 7:30pm. The Friday and Saturday performances will be at 8pm.
