"Joann's Struggling Soul" By Dr. Rodney L. Clark March 13-14 & 19-20

Helmerich Theatre at Cassia Hall,

JoAnn's Stuggling Soul by Dr. Rodney L. Clark is based on the biblical version of the book of Job. This modern day African-American gospel musical adaptation finds God and Satan discussing faithful pastor, educator, wife and mother of ten JoAnn, living a very good life. Satan gets God's permission to send JoAnn through trials and tribulations which results in her becoming homeless. JoAnn's so-called friends comfort her and give her unsolicited advice, but she keeps her faith in God who eventually restores her losses and expands her empire. Show times are 8 p.m. nightly on March 13, 14, 20, 21, 200 at the Cascia Hall Performing Arts Center, Helmerich Theatre, 2520 S. Yorktown (enter at the Utica Ave entrance). Audition Announcement!
Fantasy Plaid Camp - For Future Plaids!

Attention All Actors -Tulsa Repertory Musicals announces the first ever Fantasy Plaid Camp. This unique opportunity is available to anyone who has ever dreamed of being part of the cast of Forever Plaid.
Auditions will be held Sunday, March 22 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm and Monday, March 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Tulsa Little Theatre, 1511 S. Delaware.

Those wishing to participate are asked to prepare 32 measures of a song of their choice, a humorous monologue and to learn their voice part to a short piece from Forever Plaid. The music can be accessed on our website (tulsamusicals.com) or by calling 744-7340 and leaving an address for a copy to be mailed.

The Fantasy Plaid Camp adventure will culminate with performances at the Tulsa PAC during SummerStage 2009, June 11-14. For more information or questions please call Dan Call, 744-7340.

There will be auditions for "Who's George?" this Saturday, March 21st at Reed Community Center 4233 S. Yukon Ave. (Take I-44 to 75 North. Take the 41st Exit, turn left, left at light--South Union-- Center is 1 block on the right. The street is called West 42nd Place South and runs alongside the building, front faces Yukon.) Auditions start at 11 am and will be cold readings from the script or SHORT prepared monologues.

Cast will consist of five actors--Mike, retired gentleman--Alice, his older, but still working wife--Cynthia, Mike's Sister--Susan, the gossipy neighbor--and Sheriff Hartley (small part).

The play was written by Jill Morris, and will be co-directed by Julia Chapman and Jill Morris. It is a one-act non-murder mystery comedy. The performance will be May 22 as a fund-raiser for NEATS (North East Active Timers), a non-profit senior group in Tulsa. It will be performed at Harvard

Clark Theatre & Heller Theatre Summer Camps

Clark Youth Theatre will hold a series of Theatre Camps over Summer 2009. This is a great opportunity for anyone aged 8-14 who's interested in getting involved in theatre. The camp includes classes on acting, dancing, singing and other performance skills. The cost is $150 per two week session.

The dates for summer theatre camps at Clark Theatre are:
Session 1: June 15-26
Session 2: June 29-July 10 (No camp on July 3)
Session 3: July 13-24

New Theatre Arts Camp at Heller Theatre @ Henthorne
This camp will focus on performing arts and visual arts for ages 11-18. The dates for summer camp are: Session 4: July 27- Aug 7 and the cost is $150.00 for 2 weeks

Classes begin at 8:30 am and end at 4:30 pm. The camp has early drop off at 7:30 am and late pick up at 5:30 pm. There will be performances for family and friends the last two days of each session beginning at 5:15 and lasting until 6:30. Children will need to bring a sack lunch each day.

Playwright's Forum starting Mar 31 at 5:30- 7:00pm
New program at Heller Theatre @ Henthorne

What: Heller Theatre will host a weekly Playwright's Forum beginning
When: Tuesday, March 31, 2009, 5:30-7:00 PM
Where: Henthorne Park, 4825 S Quaker

The meeting will provide local playwrights a forum to hear their plays read out loud. A short discussion will follow the readings, and writers may ask questions regarding their work.

Those wishing to be a reader only are also welcome.

The group is being organized by Susan Apker and is intended for adults.
