Greg befriends a perky stray dog in a park and brings her home to his wife Kate. With his career in a tailspin, Greg welcomes the distraction of dog ownership. But after a long hiatus for childrearing, Kate's career is finally taking off, and a dog is the last thing she wants. The dog, Sylvia, can talk and sometimes the 'humans' even understand her! A charming comedy that illuminates the complex relationship between dogs and their human companions.
