Snow in Midsummer, directed by Nina Lee Aquino, makes its Canadian premiere at the Shaw Festival. This contemporary adaptation of the Yuan era drama centers on businesswoman Tianyun, portrayed by Donna Soares, who hopes to revitalize the drought-stricken town of New Harmony by opening a factory with her daughter Fei-Fei, played by Eponine Lee. As the community faces brutality and hauntings from its tragic past, Tianyun must confront her own demons alongside the townsfolk. The cast also includes Courtney Ch’ng Lancaster, Cosette Derome, Manami Hara, and Richard Lee, among others.
