NIIMI’IWE Indigenous Dance Series Part 1: What We Carry features Barbara Kaneratonni Diabo in a solo performance that reflects her life journey through dance. This work expresses her experiences of motherhood, Indigenous language, cultural responsibility, and ancestral connections. In collaboration with Elders Wahiakeron Gilbert and Sedalia Kawennotas Fazio, the production also incorporates original music by a range of artists, emphasizing themes of identity and resilience. The performance runs from February 6 to February 9, 2025, at Aki Studio.
