bare will received its Canadian premiere July 17 through August 1, presented by WatersEdge Productions. The show will appear at the Hart House Theatre in Toronto.

bare features book and music by Damon Intrabartolo, and book and lyrics by Jon Hartmere. The award-winning musical made its world premiere in Los Angeles in 2001, and played in New York City at American Theatre of Actors in 2004.

A pop-rock musical, bare is about the coming-of-age of five high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school. Knowing their stay in this insular world is drawing to a close, each of them question where they are in their lives and what the future holds in store. Answers are sought in the church confessional and in less formal venues including a stage, a rave, and a well-locked dorm room. The story focuses in on a secret love affair between two boys, Peter and Jason. Though Peter is ready to tell the world about their relationship, Jason fears the repercussions.

bare is the beautiful and moving story about love, fear, acceptance and finding yourself.

bare is produced by Denise Christof and features direction by Brian Gregory-Waters, choreography by Michele Shuster, music direction by Chris Tsujiuchi, set and costume design by Nikki Tamlin, and sound design by Fiona German.

The cast of bare includes David Alves (Ensemble, u/s Peter, Alan), Alex Dvorak (Alan, Peter (Alternate)), Nicholas Fedele (Zach, u/s Jason, Lucas), Jeremy LaPalme (Priest), Nichola Lawrence (Sister Chantelle), Amanda Milligan (Ensemble, u/s Ivy, Diane), Wade Muir (Peter), Alison O'Neill (Diane, Ivy (Alternate)), Graham Parkhurst (Jason), Travis Paul (Lucas), Claire Rouleau (Rory, Nadia (Alternate), u/s Claire), Antonette Rudder (Tanya), David Sazant (Matt), Cory Strong (Ensemble, u/s Zach, Priest), Sarah Thorpe (Ensemble, u/s Nadia, Rory), Michele Shuster (Nadia), Nancy Silverman (Ivy), Renee Stein (Claire), and Louisa Zhu (Kyra).
