Young People's Theatre (YPT) will present the World Premiere of Under the Stairs by acclaimed British playwright Kevin Dyer on the Mainstage, April 1 to 16, 2019.
In this innovative musical play, the cupboard under the stairs is a portal to a magical place that provides young Tim with refuge from Mom and Dad's bickering. One day, Tim escapes into the Narnia-like closet only to find he's not alone - there are other children in this fantastical world. Together, they embark on an adventure to uncover surprising secrets that could repair the turmoil in Tim's house.
"This wonderful show fully-embodies our season theme of young people taking things into their own hands to fix what's wrong in their world. We're delighted to be working with Kevin Dyer again and to be premiering his new work."
- Allen MacInnis, YPT Artistic Director
