More than fifty years ago one musical changed the theatre forever! From the first note to the final breath, this new Broadway production of WEST SIDE STORY soars again as the greatest love story of all time. Dancap Productions presents the first national tour of the smash hit Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY beginning May 8, at the Toronto Centre for the Arts.  Tickets on sale Saturday, February 25 at dancaptickets.com.

"West Side Story is a classic Broadway show" exclaimed Aubrey Dan, President Dancap Productions. "From its spectacular score to the legendary choreography and timeless love story, this is theatre at its finest.  I am thrilled to be presenting Arthur Laurents' original, beautiful and colourful Broadway revival of West Side Story in Toronto; a truly captivating theatre experience."

WEST SIDE STORY is written by three theatrical luminaries: two-time Tony Award-winner Arthur Laurents (book) and multiple Tony and Grammy Award-winners Leonard Bernstein (music) and Stephen Sondheim (lyrics) in his Broadway debut.  The score is a stream of standards that include "Tonight," "I Feel Pretty" and "Somewhere".

Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents' Broadway direction is recreated for the tour by David Saint, the Associate Director on Broadway, and the original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely. The new Broadway cast album of WEST SIDE STORY won the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.
