Unit 102 Actors Company leans into its past and looks forward to a play about memory, honouring one of the great playwrights that inspired the company in its beginnings.

Henry Moss is dead. And no one knows what happened. As Earl and Ray Moss look back to their father's past, building a story that fills in the gaps of his untimely death, it becomes apparent that memory can be a biased truth. What is true? What has been imagined?

Touching on themes of family, alcoholism and, generational violence, The Late Henry Moss looks at how memory serves us and how we use it to serve the truths we need to survive. A surreal, dark comedy rooted in autobiographical references, Sam Shepard paints a world steeped in bourbon, stinking of decay and filled with mystery.

Directed by one of Unit 102's founding members, Scott Walker (Old Times; Lakeboat), this production will feature Mark Paci (Of Mice and Men, Unit 102; Love and Human Remains, Witchboy Theatre), David Lafontaine (American Buffalo, Unit 102; Designated Survivor, NBC), Matthew Gouveia (Killer Joe, Coal Mine Theatre; American Gods, Starz), Michael Eisner (Kill Your Parents in Viking Alberta, Blood Pact Theatre; The Englishman's Boy, CBC), Anthony Ulc (Jesus Hopped the A Train, Unit 102; Rookie Blue, ABC) and, Jennifer McEwen (In Arabia We'd all be Kings, Column 13 Actors Co.; Romeo and Juliet, The Classical Theatre Project).

This will be Unit 102's second show in it's new home at The Assembly Theatre. Set design will be provided by Adam Belanger (Tough Jews, Of Mice and Men, Dora Award Nominations) and costumes will be crafted by Janelle Hince who is taking her first step into theatre costume design after honing her skills in television (Bad Blood, City TV).

Unit 102 is thrilled to be taking on this exciting piece from Sam Shepard's canon and to be able to pay homage to an artist who had such a extraordinary impact on the theatre community at large. With such a captivating script, cast and creative team you won't want to miss this show!
