Something exciting is happening in the east end of Toronto this holiday season: Torrent Productions is thrilled to announce ROBIN HOOD: A Merry Magical Pantomime will premiere at the Royal Canadian Legion #001 (Coxwell Ave at Gerrard St East) opening on Fri, December 16, at 7pm (previews December 15) and running until December 24 (11 shows only). Tickets are available via 1-800-838-3006, www.brownpapertickets.com, or at the door.

The evil Sheriff of Nottingham is at it again and Robin Hood and his merry band are going to have to save the day! Join Maid Marian, her guardian Nurse Tickle, and a woodland fairy for a fun night of laughs, sing-songs, who's behind you's and oh no they didn'ts!... Great for ages 6 and up. A fantastic holiday treat for the entire family. ROBIN HOOD: A Merry Magical Pantomime is packed with action and zingers with a couple of magical surprises tossed in for good measure.

Featuring a sparkling cast of musical theatre veterans with credits from across the country, including three-time Dora nominee (and 2016 Dora award winner for Videocabaret's The Great War) Greg Campbell as the evil Sheriff of Nottingham; Al Braatz (aka 'Scott' in Evil Dead: The Musical) as Robin Hood; Betty & Critter Award winner Kevin Aichele (Sweeney in Sweeney Todd; Javert in Les Mis) as Little John; Dora-nominee (as Lenny in Of Mice and Men; Hairspray; Spamalot) Stuart Dowling as Nurse Tickle; Ryan Brown (Shrek; Beauty and the Beast) as Pinch; and newcomers Cynthia Hicks as Maid Marian, Matthew Pinkerton as Will Scarlet, Luc Trottier as Friar Tuck, Sacha Stewart as Fred the Fairy, and Cameron Francis as Allan A. Dale.

Co-directed by Torrent Productions' husband-and-wife team - and long-time residents of Toronto's East End - Rob Torr and Stephanie Graham (a Dora-winner in her own right, who's also created the choreography for this magical show). Torrent has a history of successful productions under their belt, including 2009's Hipcheck-The Musical (Patron's Pick and Best of Fringe) and their 2014 Next Stage Theatre Festival hit, Killer Business-The Musical. Playwright Caroline Smith won the 2005 Samuel French Best Canadian Play Award for The Kitchen Witches. Musical Director Noah Macdougall recently collaborated with Luc Trottier (aka Friar Tuck) to create the new musical Perry Loved Mary. Noted Lighting Designer Joe Pagnan's work has illuminated stages around the world, including designs for Magnus Theatre, Obsidian Theatre, Buddies in Bad Times, and Harbourfront. Rounding out the Creative Team is Stage Manager Kirsti Bruce, who's kept shows running like clockwork under her watchful eye (Manitoba Theatre Centre, Thousand Islands Playhouse, Neptune Theatre).
