Improv superstar Natasha Boomer shares exactly what it feels like when you go from guru to corporate liability in All Fired Up, Richard Lett's Sober But Never Clean follows his 30 year career as a comedian, poet, singer-songwriter and more, through the depths of addiction and back again and Broadway veteran Bill Bowers breaks his silence about growing up gay in Montana, studying with Marcel Marceau and life on the Great White Way in It Goes Without Saying. Four SOULO Theatre alumni each present an original autobiographical ten minute show in the second SOULO Salon: Nicola Elbro returns to the SOULO Festival in #grateful, Morgan Joy presents her puppet dramedy The Life Boat, Amish Patel talks eating disorders and comedy in Fat Shamed By My Mom and Silvi Santososhares songs and stories of life as a new immigrant in Bedazzled.
Governor General's Award nominee and Gemini Award winner Sandra Shamas kicks off the education series in a lecture and question-and-answer event, hosted by Tracey Erin Smith, Artistic Director of SOULO Theatre. Daniel Brooks takes the hot seat in the inaugural TES Talk - an intimate one-on-one interview between Smith and Brooks. Smith is the founder of the award-winning SOULO Theatre Company, the Artistic Director of Toronto's SOULO Theatre Festival, SOULO NYC and the Co-Founder of the Totnes SOULO Theatre Festival in England. Smith recently won a Broadway World Toronto Award for her latest solo show, MEMENTO MORI. Her plays have been Critic's Pick in BackStage Magazine NYC, a two time winner of 'Best of the Toronto Fringe Festival', and the 'Audience Choice Award' in New York City's Frigid Festival.
