Chess, the legendary musical by Tim Rice and ABBA's Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, opens tomorrow night in Toronto. Fresh off a sold-out tour of the UK, the show will play The Princess of Wales Theatre until October 30th and then open in London's West End.
The Chronicle referred to this production of Chess as "the ultimate staging of Chess, I could have sat there and watched it all again, and again, and again." Hailed as one of the greatest musical theatre scores of all time, the show even spawned a number one hit for Elaine Page and Barbara Dickson's duet "I Know Him So Well" This new production marks the first time in over 20 years there has been a production of Chess of this magnitude in North America (last one being Broadway in 1988).
To celebrate the show's return to North American territory and in honour of opening night, Sir Tim Rice will hold a special online Twitter Q&A tomorrow (Wednesday, September 28th) This is a rare and exciting opportunity for fans to get to ask questions of the man who is arguably one of the greatest lyricist of our generation. Put your thinking caps on Toronto - opportunities like this don't come up very often!
All you have to do to partake in the Q&A is follow @Mirvish on Twitter and tweet your questions with the hashtag #AskTimRice. Participants are advised to start submitting questions at 2:30PM EST and questions will be answered between 3 and 3:30PM EST.
