Tickets for the 2010 season of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival are now on sale. The 2010 season, beginning on April 10, features As You Like It; Kiss Me, Kate; The Tempest; Dangerous Liaisons; Evita; Peter Pan; The Winter's Tale; Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris; For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again; Do Not Go Gentle; The Two Gentlemen of Verona; and King of Thieves.

Moviegoers have had plenty of opportunities to see and hear Christopher Plummer this past year, with his Golden Globe and SAG nominated performance in The Last Station, as well as acclaimed performances in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, 9, Up, My Dog Tulip, and the film of Stratford's production of Caesar and Cleopatra. Plummer returns to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, where he returns to play Prospero in William Shakespeare's The Tempest beginning in June.

Highlights of the season also include Shakespeare's As You Like It, directed by Artistic Director Des McAnuff, the Tony and Olivier Award-winning director, who will also take the helm of The Tempest. As You Like It will feature Tony-winning actor Brent Carver as Jaques. Mr. Carver will also be performing in the musical revue Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, directed by Stafford Arima

Chilina Kennedy, adored by audiences as Maria in the 2009 production of West Side Story, returns to play the title role in Gary Griffin's production of Evita, with Juan Chioran as Juan Peron. The two will also feature in the musical Kiss Me, Kate, with Monique Lund playing Lilli Vanessi, directed by John Doyle.

Along with two more Shakespeares, Marti Maraden's production of The Winter's Tale and The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by Dean Gabourie, the season includes spectacular productions of Dangerous Liaisons - directed by Ethan McSweeny and featuring Martha Henry, Tom McCamus, Seana McKenna and Sara Topham - and Peter Pan - directed by Tim Carroll and featuring Michael Therriault in the title role, along with Seán Cullen as Smee, Tom McCamus as Captain Hook and Sara Topham as Wendy.

Three Canadian plays round out the season: Michel Tremblay's For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again, with Lucy Peacock and Tom Rooney, directed by Chris Abraham; Leon Pownall's Do Not Go Gentle, a one-man show featuring Geraint Wyn Davies, currently playing in New York, realized by Dean Gabourie; and King of Thieves, a brand new play by George F. Walker, commissioned by the Festival in 2008. It features Evan Buliung and Seán Cullen and is directed by Jennifer Tarver.
