Roy Thomson Hall is pleased to present the return of Grammy Award-winning, Canadian entertainer and pianist, Chilly Gonzales on January 20th, 2020. Gonzales will be performing pieces from his latest album Solo Piano III, as well as hits from the rest of his repertoire, interspersed with playful explanations, from his Music School The Gonzervatory, about how music works.
Highly regarded for his genre-defying approach to the piano, showmanship and collaborations with global stars (Jarvis Cocker, Feist, and Drake), Gonzo, as he is known to close collaborators, aims to be a man of his time, approaching the piano with classical and jazz training but with the attitude of a rapper.
Three years ago, Gonzales performed an unforgettable show in his Massey Hall headlining debut as part of the film and concert series, Live at Massey Hall. To watch the film in its entirety, visit LiveatMasseyHall.com or stream / purchase Chilly Gonzales Live at Massey Hall HERE.
Chilly Gonzales holds the Guinness World Record for the longest solo concert at over 27 hours. With Never Stop, Chilly Gonzales composed a global hit for the inaugural Apple iPad 2 campaign. In 2014 he won a Grammy for his collaboration on Daft Punk's Best Album of the Year, Random Access Memories, and composed the best-selling book of easy piano pieces Re-Introduction Etudes.
