2016 will be a jam-packed year for The Second City Toronto with brand new shows like Hooking up with The Second City, Superdude and Doctor Rude, and The 77th Mainstage Revue, plus world-class adult courses and youth camps at The Second City Training Centre.

The Second City Mainstage cast is currently sketching out The 77th Mainstage Revue, which will open March 22. The new title and show information will be announced in the coming weeks!

Hooking Up With The Second City, a modern mix of romance, resentment and everything in between, will be performed on the Mainstage by the TourCo cast for two shows only February 14 - 15. This new show pokes fun at dating rituals, girls' night out misadventures and that crazy little thing called love.

The Second City has created a brand-new family-friendly show which debuts Family Day weekend (February 13-15) and returns for March Break (March 14-18) and Summertime (July 6-September 1). Superdude and Doctor Rude is a wild musical adventure with audience participation as the good guys fight super-villains with jet packs, secret lairs, and selfies.

The Second City continues its commitment to accessible and inclusive programming with DiverCity, where comedy meets culture. Hosted by Amish Patel, the February 20 edition includes performances by Harpreet Ess, Alia Rasul, Nelu Handa, Indigenous comedy collective Manifest Destiny's Child, and improv duo #BrownReign featuring The Second City Mainstage alumni Kris Siddiqi and Nigel Downer.

The Second City will also host Diversity Weekend April 30-May 1 with free workshops, and a Meet & Greet with the Director of Outreach & Diversity, Dionna Griffin-Irons, followed by NBCUniversal Second City Emerging Voices Scholarship Awards auditions on May 2. Recipients will receive one year of advanced improvisation or sketch writing training at The Second City Training Centre.

Upstairs at The Second City Training Centre, Term 2 will begin February 26 with courses such as an expansion of the Improv for Teens on the Spectrum course and Comedy from A Broad, a writing class focusing specifically on creating strong female characters. The Second City alum David Razowsky, who performed with Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrell, will be teaching two advanced workshops examining the introspective and analytical side of improv. The Second City Training Centre will also hold March Break Comedy Camps for Grades 2-8, and March Break Intensives for Grades 9-12 from March 14-18.

In the John Candy Box Theatre, students of The Second City Training Centre and emerging artists can take advantage of performance opportunities every day of the week. Recurring shows include:

HouseCo Presents, where eight Second City Conservative Grads create a unique show every week for six months under the direction of Second City Alumna Leslie Seiler.

Monday Night Mash-Up, a mix of current students, alumni, and newbies playing improv games.

Let the Music Play, where co-hosts Phatt Al and Matty Burns improvise musical musings.

See you Next Tuesday, a supportive environment for awesome female comics to try their new material.

Anyone Goes, improv enthusiasts of all levels are part of teams (lead by pros) and have ten minutes to show their stuff on stage.
