It's a little past the IDES of MARCH, but The Coincidence Men are proud (and frankly, scared) to bring you the awesome fury that is the TOGA PARTY EDITION of SHENANIGANS COMEDY NIGHT! Featuring your hosts The Coincidence Men! This month their guests include comedians Todd Van Allen and Dawn Whitwell with with musical guests Captain Cowboy & The Money-Maker and more!
ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
DAWN WHITWELL - Curve Magazine called Dawn "one of the funniest lesbians", and her 'subversive, slacker-next-door wit' has garnered her plenty of critical praise. Dawn has been performing stand-up for 18 years, and has performed throughout Canada and abroad, including appearances at the Edinburgh Festival and at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. Dawn is a pioneer in the comedy world and has been credited with helping to push female comics into the spotlight. As a seasoned comedy pro, she shares what she's learned with others. Dawn founded and teaches COMEDY GIRL, an in-demand stand-up comedy class in Toronto, recently featured in the Globe and Mail.
TODD VAN ALLEN has appeared on Comedy Network's "The Beaverton", CBC Radio's "Definitely Not The Opera" as well as CBC's "Spark" and AM640's 'Inside Jokes with Sandra Carusi'. He's also been seen on RogersTV with Val Cole on "daytime toronto", CITY-TV's "Breakfast Television" with Jennifer Valentyne. You may also have caught him on CBC's "Test the Nation" as well as SiriusXM's "Laugh Attack", "Anything Goes", and "The Guest Spot". He also appeared on an episode of the world famous podcast "Never Not Funny" with Jimmy Pardo. You may have also heard his own 'Comedy Above The Pub' podcast. He also has a beard.
CAPTAIN COWBOY & THE MONEY MAKER is a duo that is very serious about keeping things silly, and committed to musical tomfoolery. Described by INSPADES Magazine as "Old time folk and Americana played at a ragtime pace, rounded by jazzy vocals and a gritty finish. They animate the stories of forgotten songs in a way that sparks a smile and inspires applause". Founded in the subways of Toronto by Alex Shaw (Captain Cowboy) and Dayna Pirso (The Money Maker) they transcend time and space, riding a tall wave of euphoric laughter and classic entertainment. Must be seen to be believed!
ABOUT YOUR HOSTS
With 100 years of collective comedy experience between them, THE COINCIDENCE MEN are Kerry Griffin, Ralph MacLeod, Gord Oxley and Marcel St. Pierre.
