Théâtre français de Toronto is thrilled to welcome for the first time to Toronto Belgian comedy superstar Bruno Coppens in Mes Singeries vocales (Horsing Around 50). This uproarious mix of cabaret and stand-up will be presented at the Berkeley Street Theatre from today, March 26 to 30.

To celebrate his "BIG 50", Bruno Coppens has concocted a rock'n'roll spectacle just for you! After Ma Terre Happy!, nominated in the "Best solo performance" category (Prix du Théâtre 2008 - Belgium), Coppens returns in his new production, accompanied this time by pianist Pierre Poucet to form a diabolical duo!

Mes Singeries vocales is the verbal delirium and visual madness of wacky director Éric de Staercke whose play, Est-ce qu'on ne pourrait pas s'aimer un peu, won the 2005 Dora for Best Touring Production for TfT. You will be amazed as Coppens turns into a speech therapist more affected than his patient, the girl from the Tom-Tom GO GPS system struggling with her annoyed husband, Romeo declaring his love to ... Gillette while accompanied by a bartender (PierrePoucet), who will serve as hairdresser, pianist, coach, makeover master, scapegoat, and accomplice...

Mad juggler of words, creator of breathtaking verbal delusions, Bruno Coppens has managed in just fifteen years to carve out a very unique brand of Belgian humour. He is extremely popular throughout the French-speaking world: particularly in Quebec, where the public has enjoyed his two previous shows, Ma Déclaration d'humour and Bain zen. His new show, Mes Singeries vocales, has just been launched in Belgium. With contagious enthusiasm, Bruno Coppens deploys all his talent on stage, radio, and television. He has succeeded on the strength of his shows to capture increasingly large audiences, while maintaining a high standard both for the topics broached and by his level of writing.

A production of l'Atelier Théâtre Jean Vilar and sprl Exquis Mots with the aid of la Maison de la Culture de Tournai and Région Actions Sud.

Théâtre français de Toronto wishes to thank its show sponsor: Scotiabank for its support, which makes it possible for TfT to present Mes Singeries vocales. Théâtre français de Toronto also wishes to thank SunLife Financial which sponsors Surtitles in English (performances with English surtitles: Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays)

Mes Singeries vocales (Horsing Around 50) runs from March 26 to 30, 2014, written and performed by Bruno Coppens and directed by Éric de Staercke, with Pierre Poucet on piano.
