Toronto's Teatron Theatre presents the Canadian premiere of Janece Shaffer's Bluish March 3, 2010 through March 14th.

Ben Kishman knows who he is. A TV reporter with a shot at anchor, he is living the American dream. Judaism is just a small part of his identity-as he explains, "Well, there's blue and then there's blue?ish. Just like there's Jew and being Jew?ish. Dad's a Jew. I'm Jew?ish." But his fiancée Beth Richardson discovers she's a Jew too, and now she, Ben, and both their families all have to figure out what that means. In this gentle comedy, Atlanta playwright Janece Shaffer explores issues of identity and identification and the place of an ancient religion in modern society.

TEATRON Theatre has assembled a great cast for BLUISH. The cast of six includes returning actors Ron Boyd (THE DYBBUK) and Andria Siegler (CHAIM'S LOVE SONG and THE GOD OF ISAAC) as well as Carrie Adelstein, Melissa Battey-Pratt, Bob Cooper and Susan Q. Wilson who will be familiar to you from their work elsewhere. Original music for the play is provided by returning composer Noam Bergman whose compositions were acclaimed in TEATRON'S 2009 production of THE DYBBUK.

Directed by Ari Weisberg, Artistic Director and founder of TEATRON Theatre, BLUISH closes TEATRON's seventh season of fine Jewish-themed plays.

A preview performance will be held Wednesday March 3, 2010 at 1 pm. Opening night is Wednesday March 3, 2010 at 8 pm. Bluish runs Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sunday at 8 pm, Saturdays at 8:30 and Sunday matinees at 2 pm (dark on Friday) till March 14, 2010. Tickets cost between $18-$44 depending on date and time of performance.
