As previously announced, Tarragon Theatre launches its 2013-14 season with the Toronto premiere of
The Best Brothers, written by award-winning playwright-in-residence
Daniel MacIvor. This heart-warming and hilarious two-hander, currently in previews, opens September 25 and runs to October 27 in Tarragon's Mainspace.
This bittersweet comedy is "about families, siblings, the relationship between mothers and sons, and dogs," says MacIvor. MacIvor's own dog, Buddy, was one of his inspirations in writing the play in the first place and a dog is central to one of plotlines in The Best Brothers.
And since a dog is featured so prominently, Tarragon is organizing dog walking for select performances while their owners see the play! Professional dog walkers (
www.awalkapart.com) will take audience members' pooches for a stroll, then have them waiting outside after the play to be taken home.
The select dates are:
o Friday September 27th, doggy drop off at 7:45pm. Show starts 8pm.
o Sunday September 29th, doggy drop off at 2:15pm. Show starts 2:30pm.
Call the theatre at
416-531-1827 and ask for Tuya to reserve a spot. Spots are limited, so it is first-come, first-served.
