Craig Hall directs the Canadian premiere of R. Hamilton Wright and David Pichette's new adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic Victorian whodunit The Hound of the Baskervilles. Twist after suspenseful twist will keep audiences on the edge of their seats until the final curtain. Tinged with the familiar Sherlockian wit, this deliciously dark thriller begins previews on August 1 at the Festival Theatre.

It's 1890 and Sir Charles Baskerville has been scared to death - literally. Intrigued by the mystery and undeterred by the Baskerville family curse, deductive genius Sherlock Holmes (Damien Atkins) along with his trusted friend Dr. Watson (Ric Reid) are on the case.

Set in a Victorian England with a very modern-day vibe, the creative talents of designer Dana Osborne, lighting designer Alan Brodie, projection designer Jamie Nesbitt and sound designer/composer John Gzowski bring the ominous moors of Dartmoor and Baskerville Hall to life. This production also features puppetry movement by Alexis Milligan and puppetry consultant Mike Petersen, with fight direction by John Stead.

The Hound of the Baskervilles is on stage at the Festival Theatre (10 Queen's Parade, Niagara-on-the-Lake) from August 1 to October 27 (Media Premiere August 11).

This production has an age recommendation of 11+.
