TEATRON Toronto Jewish Theatre presents the North American premiere of A TINY PIECE OF LAND by Joni Browne-Walders & Mel Weiser at the Toronto Centre for the Arts - Studio Theatre.

5040 Yonge St., Toronto
January 4 to 15, 2012

After the untimely death of his wife, American dentist Barry impulsively makes his first trip to Israel. Happiness at the reunion with his long-estranged younger brother, Yosi, is put to the test by events beyond their control. The play premiered last year in Los Angeles where it played to sold-out houses.

"Conceived while the controversy around the play My Name is Rachel Corrie was raging in North America, A TINY PIECE OF LAND invites us to spend 3 days with a family of evacuees from Gaza," says Ari Weisberg, artistic director of Teatron Theatre. "This is a warm, feel good drama that makes you think, laugh and cry," concludes Weisberg.

TEATRON Theatre has assembled a great cast for A TINY PIECE OF LAND. The cast includes returning actors Bob Legare (DECEIVED) and Tara Nicodemo* (HARD LOVE), as well as experienced actors Geoff Kolomayz* and Nicole Marie McCafferty.

Directed by Ari Weisberg, Artistic Director and founder of TEATRON Theatre, A TINY PIECE OF LAND is part of their ninth season of Jewish-themed plays. It will be followed this season by CAN I REALLY DATE A GUY WHO WEARS A YARMULKE? in March.

TEATRON Toronto Jewish Theatre, now in its ninth season, produces plays from Canada and the world's communities, unveiling the treasures of Jewish tradition, enriching and inspiring the Jewish experience of all theatregoers, leading to better understanding and harmony, while maintaining Jewish values.
